Paging Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow

I am a thrill ride junky. I love a good roller coaster. But some of my favorite Disney World attractions are not of the thrill variety. I’m not sure if it’s the simplistic nature or the nostalgia but a slow dark ride can rarely be beat.

Cinderella’s Castle and Tomorrowland Bridge

My all time favorite attraction at Walt Disney World is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (affectionally known as the TTA) found in you guessed it, Tomorrowland. To me, this attraction is a must do. It’s a slow classic ride that all ages can enjoy. It’s a quick reprieve for tired legs on a hot summer day. It’s inside, it’s outside. It’s got it all!

The queue for this attraction, which is in Rocket Tower Plaza directly under Astro Orbiter, is unique in the way you arrive at the boarding station. From ground level you must take a moving walkway up and around to your car. From there, it’s off to Tomorrowland!
The PeopleMover takes a slow loop around Tomorrowland while offering views of the area before rounding a curve to expansive views of Cinderella’s Castle before heading into the Star Traders building. There you take a slow roll by Progress City, the prototype for Epcot before heading outside once again.

How about an aerial tour of Tomorrowland Speedway? You get just that on the PeopleMover. Followed by an impressive view of TRON Lightcycle / Run which is slated to open Spring 2023. Then, it’s off to Space!
Space Mountain that is! Another unique detail to the PeopleMover is the path you take into Space Mountain. You’re quite literally, in the middle of it. The track for the PeopleMover takes you between the track lifts of Space Mountain before circling, in the dark, to a viewing port into the ride. There is even a rare chance the lights inside will be on and you will be able to see the inner workings of Space Mountain.
It’s then back outside for another peak at the Speedway before looping around the outside of the classic, Carousel of Progress. Next up is a quick look inside of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
Lastly, you’ll see more beautiful views of the Castle before skirting around Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor then it’s back to where we started.

People watching!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has it all. If you haven’t ridden it yet, put it on your todo list. Best outcome? You love and ride it again and again. Worst outcome? You spent 10 minutes recouping on a breezy covered ride out of the Florida sun. Either way, it’s a win/win.

What are your thoughts, is Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover a must do?
