ADR: advanced dining reservation
Alright, Disney food lovers—let’s talk about one of the most important parts of your Walt Disney World vacation: EATING! Whether you’re craving a quick snack from a cart or an indulgent dinner at a fine-dining spot (or maybe even a character meal with Mickey himself), there’s something for every foodie at Disney. But here’s the catch: if you want to get a seat at those super-popular spots, you’ve got to plan ahead. Like, really ahead. We’re talking 60 days out, bright and early at 6:00 AM EST. Yes, you read that right. You’ll need to be up before the sun to secure your spot at Cinderella’s Royal Table or Be Our Guest—trust me, these reservations go fast.
But don’t stress! I’ve got your back. Booking Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) might sound a little intimidating at first, but I’m here to break it down for you in the easiest way possible. Let’s dive in!
How to Book Your ADRs Without Breaking a Sweat
Booking your ADRs is actually pretty simple. You can make your reservations either through the My Disney Experience app or by logging onto http://www.mydisneyexperience.com (both will do the trick but the website tends to work better). Here’s the scoop:

- Pick Your Date & Park: Choose the date you want and the park you’re planning to dine in. So, if you’re hankering for lunch at Magic Kingdom on February 20th, go ahead and mark your calendar (60 days out!).
- Sort by Meal Type or Time: Want breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? You can sort by meal type. Or, if you’re like me and are very particular about the exact time you want to eat (hello, picky eater), you can also sort by time.
- Check Availability: If you’re going during busy times like Spring Break weekend (crowds, anyone?), you might find it a little tougher to get those prime reservation spots. But with some planning and a little Disney magic, you can still snag a table!
Important Things You Absolutely Must Know
Before you jump into booking those reservations, here are some essential details to keep in mind:
- Park Tickets & Reservations: In order to eat, you gotta get into the park! Make sure you’ve got a valid park ticket and a park reservation before you start booking your ADRs. You can’t dine at Magic Kingdom without stepping foot in Magic Kingdom.
- Credit Card Info: When booking, Disney will require a credit card on file. This is just in case you’re a no-show, so don’t panic—it’s not to charge you just for booking. BUT if you don’t show up or cancel late, they’ll charge you a penalty. So keep that in mind when you’re making plans.
- Payment for Certain Restaurants: Some of the high-demand dining spots—like Cinderella’s Royal Table or dinner shows like Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue—require you to pay for your meal at the time of booking. So, yes, be ready to part with your cash before you even sit down to eat.
- Grace Period: Running a little behind? No worries! Disney gives you a 15-minute grace period if you’re late. So if you’re sprinting through the park in a food coma, you’ve got a little extra time to make it to your reservation.
- Cancellation Policy: Life happens. If you need to cancel, you can do so up to two hours before your reservation without any penalty. However, if you don’t cancel in that time frame (or if you just ghost them), you’ll be charged $10 per person. So please, be kind and cancel if you can’t make it!
Why Booking with a Travel Agent (Ahem, Me!) is the Secret to Dining Success
Here’s where it gets good. If you book your Disney vacation with me, I’m not just here for your hotel or park tickets—I’m your personal dining concierge. 🎉 If you’ve got any questions about the ADR process (or just need someone to hold your hand while you book your Cinderella’s Royal Table reservation), I’m here to help. Seriously. I’ll give you my honest advice, do the research, and even book those ADRs for you!
Not into getting up at the crack of dawn? I get it. You’d rather sleep in and enjoy your morning coffee. No worries! Ask nicely, and I’ll take care of those 6:00 AM ADR reservations for you. Your only job will be to show up and eat!
The Fine Print: Disney’s ADR System is a Little Crazy…
Okay, real talk: I can’t guarantee you’ll get every reservation at exactly the 60-day mark. Disney’s system is a bit of a wild ride, and those prime spots can get snapped up faster than you can say “Mickey Waffle.” But don’t worry! There’s always a backup plan. I’m a pro at finding alternative reservations, and I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to help you get what you want—even if it takes a second swing.
So, what are you waiting for? Ready to plan your culinary adventures around the parks? Whether you’re dreaming of a character breakfast with Mickey or fancying a dinner in the Beast’s enchanted castle, I’ve got the inside scoop to help you lock in those must-do ADRs.
And hey—if you need a little extra pixie dust to make sure you get those dining reservations, just give me a shout. I’m here to make your Disney trip as smooth as buttered popcorn and as magical as a churro. 🍿✨
